Herbal Properties

Herbs have been used for centuries in healing practices because they each possess different properties that can impart wellness. We have researched some of our favorite herbs and have utlized them in our herbal kombucha blends to create a powerhouse of health. Each herb is orgainically grown and is of the finest quality to provide the consumer with as many benefits as possible. We chose these herbs for their taste and then combined them with there herbal allies to create delicious blends that may energize, destress, lessen inflammation, fight against cancer, support your immune system, please your tummy and many more wonderful things! Below is a little bit about why we fell in love with these herbs. Enjoy! 

ROSEHIPS

Rose hips are so gorgeous to begin with and that alone is tempting enough to explain why we chose to work with this wonderful herb. However, she is really one of the queens of the herb world. A rosehip is actually the fruit of the rose and they happen to be one of the most concentrated sources of vitamin C available. In addition, the various flavonoids in rose hips have potent antioxidant action. They also contain anti-inflammatory properties and maybe used to support healthy joints.

 

TULSI

Also known as Holy Basil, Tulsi, an Ayurvedic herb, has been revered for its medicinal value throughout india for thousands of years. The aromactic leaves smell of peppermint, cloves, licorice and / or lemon. This beautiful plant belongs to the mint family and is cousins of sweet basil. The varitey we use is called Rama and is known for it's cooling, mellow flavor. In India it is consumed more then coffee because it is an energizing drink that has been used in Ayurveda to treat lung and heart problems, digestive disorders, mental fog, colds, headaches and inflammation.

CRIMSON CLOVER

Crimson Clover can be a woman's best friend. It is amazing for PMS and menopause symptoms and it can help reduce painful tenderness in the brests. Not only for women though, it has been used for cancer prevention, indigestion, high cholesterol, cough, asthma, and brochitis. In addition, clover contains calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. This beautiful herb can help stock your immune system up with an powerful defense.

NETTLES

Stinging nettles, though painful when you come in contact with the fresh plant, are extremely beneficial in helping with a variety of ailments. One of the very well known issues that it just so happens to be an amazing remedy for, is allergy relief. It's anti-inflammatory properties help counteract the body's production of histamine, which is the body's adverse reaction to an allergy. It is said to be amazing for skin issues such as eczema, as it can help reduce the rash, itchiness, and redness. Very effective against joint pain, and if taken internally can help soothe urinary issues. This herb may sting but if you're willing to overlook her one flaw, she may save you a lot of suffering.

TURMERIC

Turmeric is said to be one of the most beneficial herbs. Believed to be so due to  curcuminoids, a group of antioxidant compounds found in rhizome. The most important of the group is curcumin which has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxident. Unfortunatly, curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstreem so we add organic black pepper to our turmeric blend becuase it contains piperine, a natural substance that enchances the absorption of curcumin by 2000%. On top of it's amazing anti-inflammatory properties Turmeric boosts brain function, helps lower the risk of brain diseases, helps improve your immune system in order to lower your risk of heart disease, it may help prevent and prehaps even treat cancer, has been said to have incredible benefits against cancer, and may help delay aging.

LAVENDER

Lavender is a wonderful herb to help take the edge off of life. It's benefits include it's ability to relieve stress, improve mood, promote restful sleep, reduce inflammation, lower skin irritation, prevent infections, eleminate dandruff, and soothe stomach bloating. She can be an amazing friend for those rough days. Also, her floral notes are delicious!

GINGER

Ginger has had a very long history of being a pro at relieving digestive issues such as nausea, loss of appetite, motion sickness, and pain. Also, it tends to be naturally energizing and can help boost your circulation, battle a cold or flu, help with heartburn and sooth gastrointestional problems such as stomach cramps and gas. It is very anti-viral and is a powerful anti-inflammatory that has helped immensly with joint pain. In newer studies, ginger has been know to suppress cancer cells and work against skin, ovarian, colon, and breast cancer. And, just recently, it has been shown to hault the progression of cancer! This herb will warm you right up and fight off all the bad guys at the same time.
